Founded in 2008 by Jo and Paul Nash after the devastating full term stillbirth of their son Philip, they began by providing baby loss memory boxes to the Maternity Unit for others who suffered a similar heartbreak and have since gone to provide further support, fund training and hold remembrance . In 2015, the charity began their 'Safer Pregnancy Projects' to reduce the rate of stillbirths, premature births and complications at birth and began investing in initiatives to improve outcomes for Jersey babies. MEMORIES MATTER Annually, up to 20 memory boxes are given out to families who sadly lose a baby or child in the Maternity Unit, Rayner Ward and Robin Ward. Memory boxes are also distributed through Jersey Hospice (Children and Young Persons Service) and Family Nursing and Home Care (Paediatric Palliative Care Team) to families whose children die outside of the hospital environment, making precious memories of their child or sibling. We offer support to families affected by the loss of a baby or child, at any gestation or age and no matter how long ago. Fund bereavement care training. Our ‘Lights of Love’ candlelit remembrance service in late November offers bereaved parents a quiet time for reflection before Christmas. Commit to make an annual £10,000 grant to Jersey Hospice Emotional and Bereavement Services in respect of support given to bereaved parents or parents facing the loss of their baby or child. SAFER PREGNANCY PROJECTS Commit to fund £10k of professional training for health professionals annually Buy antenatal equipment Distribute information on safer pregnancies to 1,000 pregnant women annually Bought 6 home birth bags for our community midwives costing £4,000. Fully equipped, compartmentalised and colour coded makes it easy to identify equipment quickly for safe and effective care during home births. Can you help us support two of our most vulnerable members of the community, bereaved parents and unborn babies?
