Call and Check, in partnership with Jersey Post, will deliver a service to better connect people into their communities, enabling them to stay in their own homes for longer. Call & Check provides regular weekly visits to people who sign up to the scheme. Our vision : To help society address the need created by the worldwide ageing demographic and to remove loneliness and isolation in our communities. Our mission: We will deliver support systems to better connect people with their communities, enabling them to lead safer, healthier, sociable lives in their own homes for longer. How it Works The postal worker is a recognisable friendly face who frequently calls as part of their normal delivery round. They will check on the person, and can raise concerns through the community support groups when necessary. The service does not provide medical care or fulfill the role of a Carer. During their short visit the postal worker will: have a brief chat; ask and observe how the client is; ask if the client needs anything; note any requests from the client; pass client information to the Call & Check controller; (Any request or concerns raised during Call & Check will be passed to the relevant organisation, medical or social) Other services and assistance are available as an add-on, for example the delivery of repeat prescriptions or assistance with reminders, such as hospital appointments. Call and Check is the trading name for Homecall, a company registered in Jersey, registration number 121353.
